RBI MPC 2025: 50 bps Repo Rate Cut to 5.5%

RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra slashed the repo rate by 50 bps to 5.5% and CRR to 3%, injecting ₹2.5 lakh crore into banks. SBI home loan rates may drop to ~6.5%, saving ₹15,000/year on a ₹50 lakh loan. Markets surged, Sensex up 600 points. Inflation at 3.16%, GDP growth eyed at 6.5% for FY26.
